Now that June 2025 is over, the complete results of my Daily Writing exercise, including a bonus scene for July 1, are available to read here, on the Realmgard blog, on the Emona Literary Services™ Patreon Page.
Incidentally, if you're confused about who these people are, please consult the Encyclopedia Realmgardica and my previous Short Scenes.
Week 1
June 1: Dunstana Goes a-Viking

“I’m the best Viking ever! It’s my chicken now, suckers!”

“Or maybe the gold isn’t cursed,” Dunstana offers. “Maybe the gold is the curse!”

“Greetings,” he says, looking down a thoroughly upturned nose. “I have the pleasure of being your server tonight.”
His tone, however, indicates that he sees it as anybody but a pleasure.

“While you became content in your lazy complacency, I studied the blade.”
“Neeeeeeeeerd,” Dunstana calls at him.
June 5: Tancred is the funnest one to bite

“Here’s a cookie, Miss Sally,” he offers. “Could you perhaps bite it instead?”
June 6: Hallvard the Circle-Farer Day

Dunstana blinks at Annie and coughs into her elbow.
“And why is it Hal…pert Circle-Guy’s day today?” she asks.
June 7: Kat, Dunstana & Skadi vs. the Pirates of the Piratesburg

“What’s going on in there?” a pirate asks from the other side of the locked and barred door, desperately tugging at the door knob.
“Oh, uh.” Kat stammer, leaning her full weight against the door to keep it closed. “Yeah, we’d love to want to help you…”
Week 2
June 8: Wake Me Up Before You Go-Golem

“Friend?” the huge, vaguely-human shaped metal construct asks in a booming voice.
“Yeah, I’ll be your friend!” Dunstana says eagerly.
“Friend,” the metal thing agrees.
June 9: The Mors Dira Expedition

“Well, there’s your problem,” Plaid Jack Rackman says, pointing towards the landscape of the infamous island of Mors Dira. “The mountain is exploding.”
June 10: Earl's Ear Might Be Teak

“Lookin’ good, Earl,” Dunstana says, peering up at his shiny new wooden ear as she sets the quiche down on the table. “Is that mahogany?”
June 11: A Little Light Breakfast Conversation With Amara and Egeria

“Aw, strawberry preserves,” Egeria says, vainly fishing around the nearly-empty jar with her knife. “Why’d you go and do this to me? I thought we was friends.”
June 12: The Temple of Aeto Avunculus Maximus

“Oh!” Alda says eagerly. “I know about this! That means Best Uncle and the temple honours the special bonds between Aeto and his nieces Pherais and Anassa!”
“Very good,” Aunt Fabia says. “Have a candy.”
June 13: Annie vs. Dunstana vs. Statues on Wobbly Plinths

“He was a Consul of the Ancient Elven Empire!”
June 14: The Porthaven Raiders Face Their Fears

“Um, Captain?” Williams asks, tentatively raising his hands. “What about bears?”
Week 3
June 15: Father's Day — A Day for Fathers

“Happy Father’s Day, Admiral,” Kat Darkstone tells her father. “I got you a card.”
June 16: Lucia & the Gyrfalcon

Lucia yowls in distress as the huge, ornately-plumed bird she has the misfortune of being strapped to shoots up into the air.
“What are you doing?” she cries, holding on for dear life.
June 17: Captain Goblinbeard and Skadi, Sneaking into the Enemy Base

“Yarr,” Captain Goblinbeard declares. “We be needin’ what for to get in that there den o’ thieves, Miss Skadi.”

“Why don’t we find something you’d both like to do?” Kat asks in a gently, diplomatic tone that sounds oddly familiar.
Oh, no, Kat realises as a cold shill runs through her. I’m turning into my mother!
June 19: Cobblestone Alley to the Danger Zone

"Talk to me, goose."

“Ugh,” Kat groans, sweaty, sandy, and unamused. “It’s so hot! Summer is the worst.”
June 21: Amara Valdra & The Complete Steel-Grey Saoirse

“I’ll have you know, Katherine,” Amara says, sipping her tea. “That, as of today, I am three-quarters of the way through my self-imposed challenge to write one scene every day for the month.”
"Week" 4
[Actually 10 or so days…]
June 22: Matilda Lyte vs. a Beautiful Man from Yamatai

“Oh,” Matilda says, blushing at the sight of the samurai’s smile. “It was our pleasure. I — I mean we — would never let a dragon eat such a gorgeous — I mean, um… hot, I mean, um lovely… you know, personality-wise…”
June 23: The Battle of Battle Field Battlefield Memorial Monument Memorial Field

Kat and Dunstana stand before the Battle of Battle Field Battlefield Memorial Monument Memorial Field, laid out several years ago the commemorate the monument previously raised to commemorate the battle of Battle Field and subsequently lost to a particularly fierce windstorm.
June 24: The Ongoing Affair of the Orb of Cursemodias

“You’re just jealous of my hat, Jimena.”
June 28: Behold, Tenebella's Lore!

“As this continent’s foremost collector of the strange and ancient, my library is vast and impressive, including but not limited to: the oldest extant copy of the great sage Brorvonius’ study on the use of fire magic – the original having ironically been lost in a fire, a true and accurate account of the writing and publication of Luca Pertico’s True and Accurate Account of the East, a cookbook penned by Emperor Theobald’s personal chef Sandovech, the Book of Unutterable Utterances. And, my personal favourite, the beloved children’s classic Your Hat is Lovely, Miss Bunny Rabbit.”
June 29: Slumber Party at Castle Ansangaar

“As I understand it,” Tenebella says. “I believe this is the point where we eat ice cream, paint each other’s nails, and talk about the boys we like.”
“Boys are gross,” Kat scoffs.
“And,” Tenebella continues. “If there’s time, we can commune with the uncanny gods of the Sublunar Realm.”
“Excuse me?” Amara asks with a raised eyebrow.
“Eat ice cream?” Tenebella says, her eyes shifting uneasily from side to side.
June 30: A Meeting of the Prominent Fictioneers of Porthaven. And also Kat…

“Writing is hard!” Amara wails.
July 1 Bonus: Aurorean Victory Day

“Right,” Lucia says, huddling up with the others. “Somebody needs to keep Apolline distracted, while the rest of us — Oh.”
“Why are you keeping me distracted?” the Auroean sorceress asks, her head quizzically tilted.
“We wanted to back you a cake,” Alda admits. “You know, for Victory Day.”
